Local entertainer Amit Dookram is on the road to recovery and making strides following an accident a year ago.

This is according to a post by his sister Amrita Dookram on his behalf on the anniversary of the accident on February 11th.

She noted that not much information was given publicly over the past year due to respect for Amit’s privacy.

Though Amit cannot verbally communicate, he has wished to say the following: “I would like to tell everyone that I have missed you all a lot and I am grateful for all of the love, prayers and support I have received thus far, I love you all so much and I cannot wait to be singing for you again one day.”

Dookram’s accident occurred as he was making his way home from a gig in San Fernando on February 11th, 2023.

Amrita says the accident caused him to sustain a Grade 3 diffuse axonal injury and, a couple months after, he had to undergo an emergency tracheostomy due to subglottic stenosis.
