Allister Guevarro has been nominated for the post of Police Commissioner, while Wayne Mystar has been nominated to act as Deputy Police Commissioner.

Both names were listed under the Government Business section of the Order Paper shared on the Parliament’s website for the upcoming sitting scheduled for this Friday.

Mr Guevarro is a Senior Superintendent attached to the Special Branch, while Mr Mystar is an Assistant Police Commissioner.

Also during the sitting, Government will table bills to amend the Children’s Life Fund Act and repeal the T&T Revenue Authority Act.

Shortly after taking office, Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar announced a decision to expand the category of applicants that may qualify for a grant under the Children’s Life Fund.

There are also plans to introduce a mechanism to allow the Health Minister review the rejection an application for a grant.

Meanwhile, a repeal of the T&T Revenue Authority Act would see an end to operations by the T&T Revenue Authority.
