Three T&T nationals have been awarded by government after receiving accolades for their cocoa at the Cacao of Excellence Awards.

In February 2024, Doolarie Ramdath, Shankar Teelucksingh and Stephanie Omardeen were given the silver award for Central America and the Caribbean, honouring top-quality cacao farming.

Agriculture Minister Kazim Hosein says the awards have placed T&T on the map for cocoa and have thrust T&T onto the global stage once again.

The Minister then presented special awards to Ms Ramdath, Mr Teelucksingh and Mr. Matthew Escalante who collected on behalf of Ms Omardeen.
