Aga Khan, 88 year old billionaire philanthropist and spiritual leader has died.
BBC reports the 49th hereditary imam of the Ismali Muslims, who are direct decedents of the Prophet Muhammad, passed peacefully in Lisbon, Portugal on Tuesday.
Aga Khan’s charities ran hundreds of hospitals, educational and cultural projects, largely in the developing world, irrespective of their religious affiliations or origins.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres described him as a “symbol of peace, tolerance and compassion in our troubled world”.
