Adjustments to temporary supply schedules as Desal Plant works continue

WASA will adjust some of the temporary supply schedules issued for the shutdown of Desalcott’s desalination plant in Point Lisas.

On Monday this week, the plant was shut down for a period of nine days to facilitate maintenance works.

It usually supplies WASA with 40 million gallons of water per day, and temporary schedules have been implemented to help supplement the shortfall.

WASA’s Acting CEO Kelvin Romain spoke more about the schedules during a media tour of the plant today.

Also speaking was John Thompson, General Manager of Desalcott, who said the maintenance works are on schedule.

Desalcott owns and operates the desalination plant in Point Lisas.
