A Tobago man has been charged for cheque fraud.
23-year-old Akeel Kerr was also granted $15,000 bail by a Justice of the Peace.
A supermarket reported to police that it bought goods from a man and issued a cheque valued at $49.25 as payment.
The man allegedly returned to cash the cheque, which was found to be altered and inflated to read $492.25.
The suspect was arrested following an investigation.
He will appear in the Scarborough Magistrates’ Court on July 1st, 2024.
