An 8-year-old boy drowned after a pirogue capsized in Chaguaramas yesterday.

The incident reportedly occurred shortly after 7pm.

Kaden Sandy was with his parents and another adult, who were responding to a distress call from another vessel when their boat overturned.

Kaden drowned, despite efforts to save him.

Members of the Coast Guard later rescued the adults and retrieved the child’s body.
