Police are urging motorists to obey the speed limit, especially over the Carnival period, as 70 speeding tickets were issued in the lead up to the weekend.
This followed exercises on the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway on Friday and Saturday.
Inspector Doodnath of the Freeport Highway Patrol Unit says, “Stop speeding, the lime is not running away!”
He adds, “The Highway Patrol Branch will continue to monitor the nation’s highways and roadways for the remainder of the Carnival season to ensure that all motorists adhere to the road traffic laws.”
