Seven motorists have been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

They were detained during an exercise carried out between 11pm on Friday and 3am on Saturday, by officers of the Port-of-Spain DUI Task Force.

The TTPS is urging motorists to drive responsibly and avoid driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

It warns that such behaviour can have serious consequences, including imprisonment and the loss of driving privileges.

Meanwhile, earlier in the week, police recovered a stolen vehicle.

Around 6pm on September 25th 2024, officers on patrol received information about a suspicious vehicle parked on Laventille Extension Road, Morvant.

Upon further investigation, the found the silver Toyota Axio which was reportedly stolen on August 25th 2024, from the St. James Police District.

The vehicle also matched the description of a vehicle involved in a shooting incident, on September 18th 2024, in Chinapoo.

The vehicle was subsequently towed to the Morvant Police Station.
