$6 million worth of marijuana trees have been destroyed in Toco.

The discovery was made on Friday during a targeted cannabis suppression operation in the

L’Anse Noir area of the Toco Forest Reserve.

Officers found three cannabis fields spanning approximately two and a half lots of land – these contained approximately 6,000 fully

grown cannabis trees and 300 seedlings.

Three narcotic camps were also discovered and destroyed.

The TTPS says this collaborative operation was carried out under the coordinated leadership of Assistant Commissioner of Police Tewarie.

It involved specialized teams including the SIU Jungle Operation Team supervised by Corporal Mohammed, the Regiment Special Forces supervised by Sgt Martin, the Southern Division Task Force supervised by Cpl Mitchell and the Air Support Unit supervised by Sgt Forbes.
