$.5M in cocaine found in package of car parts

Over half-a-million dollars worth of cocaine hidden in legitimate courier cargo has been seized.

Police say officers had identified a drug trafficking network based in the Northern Division where narcotics would be concealed in cargo destined for regional and international locations.

Yesterday, officers intercepted a package of car parts set to go to Antigua and found $501,812 worth of cocaine.

Police Commissioner Erla Christopher says the TTPS is hoping to see the further dismantling of such drug trafficking networks and an associated reduction in crime.
