Four men have reportedly been shot dead by police in three separate incidents.
Around 10am, Shumba James and Visham Ryan Lochan were fatally shot while in a car along St Mary’s Main Road.
They are alleged to have shot first at the officers who then returned fire.
According to reports, James previously testified against police officers in the high-profile killing of three persons in Moruga in 2011.
Also, shortly after 9am in Bethel, Tobago, an officer fatally shot a man identified as Ronelle Marcelle.
Reports say Marcelle had attacked an officer with a cutlass and knife and was later pronounced dead at the Scarborough General Hospital.
Meanwhile, 44-year-old Devon Sotio was shot dead in Longdenville after a chase and crash.
Sotio allegedly tried to evade a police checkpoint, leading to a chase that ended at Gail Trace.
As he exited the car, he is said to have pointed what appeared to be a gun at officers, who discharged their weapons.
