Three men were held following a police-involved shooting in Chaguanas yesterday.

Officers were on patrol around 2:15pm when the observed a white Toyota Axio speeding along the Southern Main Road.

The vehicle came to a stop at Dass Branch Trace at which point the officers announced their presence.

The TTPS says while being interviewed, the driver pointed a firearm at the officers, who discharged several rounds at the vehicle, which drove for a short distance before stopping.

The driver and two other male occupants were taken for treatment.

In the vehicle, the officers allegedly found a firearm loaded with an extended magazine containing ammunition, and a quantity of cocaine.
