A 23-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Police Constable Dale Mayers on May 13th, 2024.

PC Mayers, who was with two persons at a bar in Montrose, was killed during an exchange of gunfire with a suspect who was wounded in the incident.

The suspect was arrested at the Port of Spain General Hospital while being treated for a gunshot wound.

Today, Ishmael Clarke of George Street appeared virtually in court charged with murder and firearm and ammunition possession.

A Sufficiency Hearing date has been set for February 28th, 2025.
