Two women have perished in a fire in Cunupia.

The blaze occurred around 11am today at a house on Persad Avenue, Mon Plasir Road.

According to reports, the victims are 54-year-old Angela Ali and her daughter-in-law, 30-year-old Ambika Ali.

Both were trapped in the burning house, with their charred remains discovered after the flames were extinguished.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
