A 24-year-old solider is one of two people arrested in connection with counterfeit US currency.
The TTPS says a victim said he met the suspect at the Hilton Hotel on March 25th to purchase US$10,000 valued at over TT$70,000.
After the seller left, the currency was checked with a UV light and found to be fake.
Another meeting was arranged, leading to the suspect’s arrest.
Further investigations also led to the arrest of a 45-year-old St. James man, after more than US$5,500 and TT $14,000 was found in his house.
