The TTPS says two men were held as officers foiled a home invasion in Woodbrook.
It says between 4pm and 6:30pm on Saturday, officers were on patrol when they received intelligence about several armed men preparing to carry out a home invasion.
On arrival at the location, they approached a two-storey building and identified themselves as police officers.
The suspects immediately fled in different directions, prompting a chase.
Two were detained: a 32-year-old man from East Dry River, Port of Spain, and a 28-year-old man from McKai Lands, Belmont Valley Road, Belmont.
The officers also reportedly recovered a Glock 19 firearm with two magazines containing eight rounds of ammunition, a buttstock, five black ski masks, five pairs of gloves, and two hooded sweaters.
