Two men were fatally shot by police this morning in St Augustine.
The TTPS says around 8:45am, members of the North Central Division Task Force launched an intelligence led operation based on information.
They cordoned off a white two story structure on Bassie Street Extension in Spring Village, however before room clearing exercises could begin, two male suspects fled the building.
They allegedly carried firearms and shot at the officers, who returned fire.
Both suspects sustained injuries and were pronounced dead on arrival at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex.
They are yet to be identified.
Police allegedly recovered an AR rifle fitted with a magazine containing 30 rounds of ammunition, nine spent shells and a live round.
They also reportedly seized two shoulder side bags containing two rounds of ammunition and nine clear plastic packets of plant like material, resembling marijuana.
