13 Venezuela nationals have been fined $5,000 each for entering T&T illegally.

According to the TTPS, 15 Venezuelans were arrested between Monday and Tuesday this week during exercises by the Immigration Investigations Unit, Areas North and South.

They all appeared in court and pleaded guilty, with the 13 being given 30 days in which to pay their fines – failure will lead to nine-month jail sentences.

Two men out of the 15 arrested have been remanded into custody pending further investigations.
