$1.6M worth of marijuana found in speaker boxes

Marijuana worth $1.6 million originating from Canada has been seized by police at a warehouse in Point Lisas.

According to the TTPS, officers identified a package being imported into Trinidad from Canada and coordinated an operation with the Customs and Excise Division.

Yesterday, they seized the package which contained two speaker boxes which contained 6.48 kilogrammes of the drugs.

Investigations are continuing with the assistance of Canadian authorities.
