St. Augustine MP Khadijah Ameen is calling for something to be done to address crime.

Her call comes after a man was shot dead at Freeman Road in St Augustine last night.

Ms Ameen says she is concerned over the lack of safety, adding that an increase of weapons and presence of high-powered guns have residents living in fear.

 She adds that numerous appeals for meetings with the Minister of National Security as well as the Commissioner of Police have been unsuccessful.
