The Forward Ever Foundation has partnered with the St. James Police Youth Club to support at-risk youths through training in film and music production.
According to the NGO, the programme will provide participants with hands-on skills, guidance, and valuable resources to pursue careers in the creative industry.
It includes a variety of workshops, hands-on projects, and guidance from seasoned professionals, which will help youngsters build their self-assurance, nurture their skills, and discover potential avenues for personal and professional development.
Chairman of Forward Ever Foundation, Christopher Din Chong, says the St. James Police Youth Club will work on folklore/culturally themed projects that were made possible through a Caribbean Development Bank grant received in 2022.
Participants will also be exposed to music production and podcasting.
Mr Din Chong says, “As our work with the SJPYC progresses we will continue to explore our untapped stories and beloved characters like the Buck, La Diablesse and Soucouyant with the help of a team of like-minded local and international producers. Participants will not only gain practical knowledge, but they will benefit from a career guidance and mentorship dynamic. This will be a fun experience for all those who are involved, as youngsters these days love creating content and we want to provide them with the necessary tools.”
