Three due in court today on fraud charges

Three men are due in court today on charges related to attempts to cash Central Bank cheques drawn on the account of the National Security Ministry.

The three were arrested when officials found that the cheques, each around $8,300, were fraudulent – police say no monies were paid out.

One of the suspects then attempted to escape from the St James Police Station, leading to additional charges of Assaulting Police Officers in the Execution of their Duties and Trying to Escape Lawful Custody.
