The Minshall legacy exhibition commemorating the 50th anniversary of the work “From the Land of the Hummingbird” continues to be open to the public.
The exhibition is being put on by Baachacs Collective and the Minshall Mas Foundation, in partnership with Castle Killarney (Stollmeyer’s Castle).
It opened at Castle Killarney, Queen’s Park Savannah, on January 23rd 2024, continues until March 9th, 2024.
In the roughly four weeks since it opened, the commemorative exhibition on Peter Minshall’s 1974 mas presentation has received more than 2,000 visitors.
And those turning up are being encouraged not just to view the artwork on display, but also to engage.
Baachacs Collective says costume pieces from Minshall’s 2002 band “Picoplat” offer a chance to play mas in the shady galleries of Stollmeyer’s Castle.
Meanwhile, in the exhibition’s art activity room, children and adults alike, can colour and sketch as the breeze brings in sounds from the neighbouring Queen’s Park Savannah.
The show is open Tuesday to Friday, 9am–5pm and Saturday, 10am–2pm.
Admission is free.
Groups larger than 10 are asked to schedule visits by emailing castlekillarneytt@gmail.com or calling/WhatsApp 798 5574.
