There has been no eruption of the Kick’-em-Jenny Submarine Volcano since February 9th 2024.
In a statement issued yesterday afternoon, Grenada’s National Disaster Management Agency said UWI’s Seismic Research Center advised of increased seismic activity at the volcano shortly before midnight on February 9th.
It adds that since the morning of February 11th, the elevated activity has ceased, with seismic activity at the volcano returning to normal levels.
It adds however that the level of activity can either increase, decrease, or remain at normal readings.
UWI-SRC will continue to monitor Kick’-em-Jenny, while the alert level will remain at Yellow, with the 1.5 km exclusion zone around the volcano still in effect.
