Police Commissioner Erla Christopher was out and about in Port of Spain today in the midst of Carnival celebrations.

Accompanied by National Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds, Chief of Defence Staff Air Vice Marshall, Darryl Daniel, Prisons Commissioner Deopersad Ramoutar, and others, the Top Cop said activities thus far included no major incidents.

She also addressed the “rumours of perceived manpower shortages”, saying up until the time of her tour, there was no indication that police officers had absconded from their duties.

She added that the TTPS has increased road and crime suppression exercises leading up to and beyond the finale, including the usual cool-down activities on Ash Wednesday.
