The Tobago Emergency Management Operations Centre has been activated at level two (orange) in response to an overturned vessel and oil spill.
The spill took place off the coast of Cove Eco Industrial and Business Park yesterday and initial information states that the vessel identified as Gulfstream may have been carrying lumber and sand.
The Tobago Emergency Management Agency says the level two activation means national assistance has been sought.
Cleanup started at 8am today and includes oil spill response equipment and two vessels with divers.
