Disney has released a surprise announcement about a “Moana” sequel!

The studio posted a short first trailer showing Moana standing on a beach and blowing into a shell.

The description reads “Walt Disney Animation Studios’ epic animated musical “Moana 2” takes audiences on an expansive new voyage with Moana, Maui and a brand-new crew of unlikely seafarers. After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced.”

“Moana 2” is scheduled to hit theaters November 27th 2024, setting up a box office battle with the first “Wicked” film, which is also due to be released on November 27th 2024.
