The Coast Guard is investigating an incident in Tobago where a vessel overturned and spilled oil near the coast off Cove Eco Industrial and Business Park.

According to the Tobago Emergency Management Agency, oil has reached the shoreline, and it has also received information of suspected oil deposits in Roxborough and Belle Garden.

Samples from each of the sites will be tested to determine the origin of the oil, while work is ongoing regarding cleanup procedures.
