Two men, 19 and 30 years old, have appeared in court charged with the murder of a man whose body was found in a river last month.

On January 11th, 2024, Kassie Rampersad was fatally wounded during an altercation with two men at his home, and his decomposing corpse was found on January 24th in the Oropouche River.

One man surrendered to police on January 28th, and another was detained in Mayaro on January 30th.

Lalchan Baldeo, 19, and Vishal Boodnath, 30, appeared in court virtually last Friday and the matter has been adjourned to February 29th.
