West Indies Head Coach Daren Sammy says the team’s performance against Australia did not show the intent needed at the ODI level.
The Aussies wrapped a 3-0 series win with an eight-wicket win in the third ODI, bowling out West Indies for just 86, before chasing in just 6.5 overs.
Speaking after the game, Sammy said the team was inspired by the series-levelling win by the red-ball squad in the final Test last month, but did not execute the ODI series like an inspired team should.
However, he insisted that the team’s game plan is to always show intent.
Also weighing in, Captain Shai Hope said the management team has identified areas to amend moving forward, including taking the attack to the bowlers and not allowing them to settle.
