Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley says he is willing to meet with the families of the divers involved in the 2022 Paria pipeline tragedy.
He insisted however that he does not intend to play politics with the issue.
His response came during a media conference held today.
The families of the deceased divers have been participating in demonstrations outside Paria’s Pointe-A-Pierre office in recent days.
They are being accompanied by members of the OWTU, which is calling for proper compensation for them, as well as for Paria members implicated in the Lynch report to be held accountable.
Fyzal Kurban, Yusuf Henry, Rishi Nagassar and Kazim Ali Jr, died after being sucked into a Paria pipeline during maintenance works on February 25th 2022.
One other diver, Christopher Boodram, survived after crawling out of the pipeline.
