Jamaica’s Local Government Election will be held on February 26th, 2024, two days before the due date.
This was confirmed by Local Government Minister Desmond McKenzie as he spoke at the launch of the Jamaica Labour Party’s campaign in Montego Bay yesterday.
He added that Nomination Day is February 8th.
The Jamaica Gleaner described the polls as “long-delayed”.
Reacting to the announcement, PNP President Mark Golding said it was a good day for Jamaica.
