T&TEC says power has been mostly restored following an island-wide outage in Tobago this afternoon.
It says around 3pm, during the course of maintenance work at its Toco Substation, a fault occurred which caused the generating units at the Cove Power Station in Tobago to trip.
This triggered a cascading effect which caused the entire island to subsequently lose supply.
95% percent of customers were back on supply by about 4:30pm.
T&TEC says the root cause of the initial fault is being investigated.
