Milly Alcock has been cast as Supergirl in the new DC Universe by James Gunn and Peter Safran.

The Australia-born actress is best known for her role in “House of the Dragon” – she played the young Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen in the “Game of Thrones” spinoff.

Commenting on the casting, Gunn said while he first became aware of her in HOTD, he was blown away by her varied auditions and screen tests for Supergirl.

According to Gunn and Safran, the “Supergirl” movie will be based on Tom King’s and Bilquis Evely‘s comic book of the same name, released in July last year.
