T&T has once again received a score of 42 on the 2023 Corruption Perceptions Index.
This was revealed this morning by Donna Jack-Hill of the T&T Transparency Institute who reminded that the scale goes from 100 (very clean) to 0 (highly corrupt).
She noted that there is a need to do much better to combat the perception of corruption including campaign finance reform and a more robust and independent judiciary.
Meanwhile, in the region, Guyana’s score moved up by 11 to 40 since 2015 and the Dominican Republic’s score moved up 7 since 2020.
Worldwide, Denmark remains number one with a score of 90 while Somalia is last with a score of 11.
