San Fernando Mayor Robert Parris has responded to a protest this morning by High Street vendors.

The vendors called on the Mayor to reconsider a proposal to relocate them to Mucurapo Street.

However, speaking to 103.1FM News today, Mr Parris insisted that the move is part of an improvement plan for the city, with stalls already built and work to be done on the Mucurapo Street Market.

Furthermore, the Mayor explained that it is an opportunity for vendors to ply their trade without having to evade police.
