Additional mud volcano vents have reportedly been noted in Cascadoux Village, Mayaro, which continues to remain alert.

103.1FM News spoke today with Chairman of the Mayaro/Rio Claro Regional Corporation, Raymond Cozier, who says a total of six vents have now been observed.

He says these continue to ooze mud, but are not as active as last Thursday.

Scientists and other personnel are due to return this week to conduct further assessments and tests.

A community meeting is also being organized in the week to discuss the matter and inform residents about an evacuation plan, should it be needed.

Mr Cozier says one family continues to stay away from their home, and will be accommodated in the short term by the Social Development Ministry while assessments continue.
