Pennywise Cosmetics has backtracked on certain changes to the terms and conditions for its employees.

There was backlash after the company reportedly said it would remove the “perk” of providing paid lunch hours and 15-minute breaks for workers with less than four years service.

In a statement posted online, it said it has decided to “revert to the original terms and conditions as applicable”.

It adds that this decision was made following advice from its industrial relations consultant as it seeks to comply with the provisions of the Minimum Wages Act and other applicable labour laws.
