WASA is warning of the possibility of overflowing manholes today in lower Port of Spain and Beetham Gardens.

This comes as it carries out critical planned maintenance works at the Beetham Wastewater Plant.

It says due to the works, there may be higher than normal flows in the sewer collection system, leading to the possibility of the overflowing manholes.

It adds that a team is on standby to respond to such cases, by pumping down the manholes and sanitizing affected areas.

The works are being carried out between 7am and 6pm today.
