Kieron Pollard has been named as captain of MI Cape Town for the upcoming edition of the SA20 tournament.

Meanwhile, fellow West Indian Nicholas Pooran will captain MI Emirates in the ILT20 league to be played in the United Arab Emirates.

Both announcements came from the respective sides via social media.

MI Cape Town’s decision comes after captain Rashid Khan was ruled out as he continues to recover from a back surgery.

ESPN Cricinfo says Pollard was also retained by MI Emirates for the ILT20 in 2024, but its dates clash with those for the SA20.

As such, it remains to be seen whether Pollard will join MI Emirates for the last leg of the ILT20 in the UAE.
