A 28-year-old vendor was fatally shot in Freeport last night.

Adrian Nyack had just left a bar along the Southern Main Road and was walking to his vehicle when he was approached by two armed men around 10:15pm.

They reportedly opened fire, hitting the victim and damaging his brown Nissan X-Trail.

Nyack was rushed to the Couva District Health Facility but succumbed to his injuries around 11:30pm.

The deceased is said to be from Calcutta No. 2 in Freeport and Edinburgh 500 in Chaguanas.
