Citizens are being urged to refrain from using the North Coast Road.

In an update this afternoon on a hill slide near the lookout, the Works Ministry says its Highways Division conducted an initial assessment.

It determined that the area still poses a significant threat to the safety of the travelling public.

The Ministry says motorists and residents are strongly advised to avoid the area until a comprehensive evaluation is conducted.

Works Minister Rohan Sinanan says all necessary resources have been mobilized to restore connectivity for local traffic.
