Reports: No Jamaica Tallawahs for CPL 2024

2022 Caribbean Premier League champions Jamaica Tallawahs will reportedly not feature in the 2024 tournament.

According to an article by ESPNcricinfo, the team will be replaced by a new Antigua and Barbuda-based franchise after the Tallawahs was sold back to the CPL.

It was owned by Guyana businessman Kris Persaud.

ESPNcricinfo says the Antigua and Barbuda team does not yet have a name.

Antigua has previously been represented in the CPL by the Hawksbills franchise which was replaced by the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in 2015.

Reports suggest that CPL plans to relaunch a Jamaica-based franchise in years to come.
