The Joint Trade Union Movement is continuing to raise questions after the replacement of Deborah Thomas-Felix as Industrial Court President.

The unions claimed that Mrs Thomas-Felix’s contract was not renewed and a day later the Office of President Christine Kangaloo confirmed that Heather Seale was appointed as the new Court President.

In a media release, JTUM says all previous Presidents of the Industrial Court retired over the age of 73 and received a pension.

It says it cannot understand why Mrs. Thomas-Felix was removed from office and not allowed to retire like all previous Presidents.

JTUM adds that, to date, President Kangaloo has given no reason for her decision.
