Authorities are investigating a break-in and theft at the Munroe Road Hindu Temple, according to MP Dinesh Rambally.

In a Facebook post, Mr Rambally said the sanctity of the site was disrupted by intruders wielding bolt cutters.

He added that investigators are still working out the full extent of the damage caused and property stolen.

While thanking police for a swift response to the incident, the Chaguanas West MP said the incident should serve as a stark reminder of a need to redouble efforts to protect sacred spaces.
