Israel and Hamas extend ceasefire to seventh day

Israel and Hamas have agreed to extend their ceasefire for a seventh day.

According to Reuters, Israel has demanded Hamas release at least 10 hostages per day to keep the ceasefire going.

Israel said it received a list at the last minute of those who would go free today.

Hamas, which freed 16 hostages on Wednesday while Israel released 30 Palestinian prisoners, also said the truce would continue for a seventh day.

The truce has allowed humanitarian aid to reach into Gaza.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who was visiting Israel, said efforts were continuing to prolong the truce.

Elsewhere, three people were shot dead in Jerusalem after two attackers reportedly opened fire at a bus stop.

At least six others have been injured – some of them critically.

BBC News says it comes a day after two Palestinian boys, 8 and 14, were shot and killed during an Israeli army raid in the West Bank city of Jenin.
