A Prison Officer has been charged with breaching a protection order and assault by threats.

Around 4:40pm on Sunday, two persons were waiting for a friend in Matura when the suspect approached and threatened them.

A report was made at the Matura Police Station where one of the victims produced a copy of the Protection Order which prohibited the suspect from engaging in or threatening to engage in any acts of domestic violence.

Officers later went to Matura where they found and held 33-year-old Narine Boodram.

He appeared before a Sangre Grande Magistrate yesterday.
