The expiry date of all Import Licences issued in 2023 is December 31st 2023.

This notice is being issued by the Trade Ministry’s Trade Licence Unit to all Registered Foreign Used Car Dealers, Individual Importers and other stakeholders.

Additionally, the Unit says there will be no revalidation of Import Licences issued in 2023 to a date in 2024 for used right hand drive motor vehicles arriving after December 31st 2023.

It says the permissible age for import of used right hand drive motor vehicles is:
• three (3) years from the date of manufacture for vehicles outfitted with a gasoline, diesel, CNG or hybrid engine; and
• two (2) years from the date of manufacture for vehicles outfitted with an electric motor powered by a rechargeable battery pack.
