The National Security Minister has said that over 500 applications have been made for pepper spray licences with some being granted to importers, retailers and users.

Minister Fitzgerald Hinds was asked in Parliament today to disaggregate the figures since the commencement of the Firearms (Amendment) Act of 2021.

The first phase of the process of operationalizing the Firearms (Amendment) Act of 2021 reportedly started in December 2022.
